Data Privacy

Based on Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the federal data protection provisions (Data Protection Act, DPA), every person is entitled to protection of their privacy and protection against misuse of their personal data. We comply with these provisions. Personal data is treated as strictly confidential and is neither sold nor passed on to third parties. In close cooperation with our hosting providers, we make every effort to protect our databases as well as possible against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or falsification. When you access our websites, the following data is stored in log files: IP address, date, time, browser request, and general information transmitted about the operating system or browser. This usage data forms the basis for statistical, anonymous evaluations, allowing us to identify trends that help us improve our offerings accordingly.

Privacy Notice for the Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). GA4 uses cookies and similar technologies that allow analysis of your use of this website. The resulting information about your use of this website is generally transmitted to and processed on a Google server, in some cases in the USA.

GA4 does not store full IP addresses. Your IP address is only briefly processed to derive an approximate location (e.g. country or region) and is automatically truncated or discarded before any data is stored.

Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity for us, and provide other services related to website usage. Where data is transferred to the USA, Google relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), under which Google LLC is certified. Data transmitted by your browser is not merged with other data held by Google.

User and event data is retained by default for 2 months, up to a maximum of 14 months.

Google Analytics is only used on this website if you have given your explicit consent via our cookie consent banner beforehand. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, e.g. via the relevant setting in the cookie banner or your browser software. If you do not consent, no data is collected via Google Analytics.

One caveat: the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework has faced legal challenges before (like its predecessors Safe Harbor and Privacy Shield), so its long-term status isn't guaranteed. Since this is a legally binding disclosure, I'd recommend having a lawyer verify it against your actual GA4 configuration (whether Google Signals or the User-ID feature are enabled, for instance) before publishing.
